Out of Nowhere
After an internship visit at a fascinating company, I cycled home through the city centre. A quick detour to the bookshop to pick up a newly released book by a somewhat peculiar but absolutely wonderful artist. You have to do something with that book voucher from the Christmas package.
Just after stepping out of the bookshop, I walked past a running store. A shop where I've bought many a pair of shoes that carried me to new personal bests. A shop also where one of my running coaches works.
The internship visit I'd just wrapped up had sparked an idea.
A few minutes after a quick text exchange, I was sitting in a cushioned corner seat, coffee in hand, pitching that very idea. An idea that's going to give my teaching a fresh push in the coming academic year. An idea that had appeared out of nowhere.
Life is full of opportunities. The hardest part is spotting them when they show up. More often than not, they pass by unnoticed. Not this time.
The new book now sitting on the living room coffee table is proof of that.
