Yordi - A Lifelong Journey of Growth

The Upwards Activity Spiral

Last week I ran more than 50 kilometers, separated over five days. I also spend an evening doing weight- and circuit training, bringing the total of "active days" to six.

I'm not writing this to boast about this achievement, but about a feeling I had walking the last few steps to my front door on Sunday evening, when I thought back about all I did last week. A little dopamine rush that you'd otherwise get when swiping through Instagram Reels and stumbling upon that one video that makes you chuckle.

But this time, the rush was the result of something far more healthy and enjoyable. Something way more natural.

In that sense, working out six times during last week has had multiple advantages: one is the positive feeling I just described, the other the healthy lifestyle that it is, in and of itself. It's an upwards spiral: more activity leads to feeling better, which motivates more activity. Et cetera.

Here's to hoping it doesn't lead to injury.
